Subject:                                         9-9-26 THOUGHTS

 

We have DEATH... LIFE... & SURETY in our reading.  The Son of God willingly takes the lowest place to save us, and God gave Him the highest place and a name above every name.  Surely every tongue will confess that Name one day.  Eternity is contemplated.  

Php 2:6-11    who, although He existed in the form of God, did not regard equality with God a thing to be grasped,  7  but emptied Himself, taking the form of a bond-servant, and being made in the likeness of men.   Being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross.  9  For this reason also, God highly exalted Him, and bestowed on Him the name which is above every name,  10  so that at the name of Jesus EVERY KNEE WILL BOW, of those who are in heaven and on earth and under the earth, 11  and that every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

Our Prayer:
O God, sober us when we read such things from Your Spirit Word.  May the story of the living and teaching and dying and raising of Your Son occupy our souls.  May we confess His name each day, rather than some day!  We confess our belief in these words, and thank You,  Father God, for faith.  We pray in the name that is above all names,    Amen.
